  • “Even though he was the reason her husband was gone, he was the last piece she had left of him.”-

      • creates a mystery and leaves audience wanting to know more about the situation, how did her son cause the death of her husband? Also shows how desperate ClaraJean is to hold onto her husband.
    • “They used to get up together and prepare a feast - both believing that breakfast was the most important meal of the day.”-
      • interesting contrasts with the rest of the entry, more upbeat and paints a happy picture. Highlights the difference in character between past Clara Jean and present Clara Jean. Also a more complex structure than other sentences in the entry.

    Vanyan Gason: "The rhythm of the clicking of the fan matched every beat of Vani's heart, every beat that told him again and again: it should've been him."


  • “Vani rolled on his back and stared at the ceiling, the ceiling that once covered a family, but now only covered a weak man.”

      • This sentence has a structure that grabs the reader's attention and provides a look into Vanyan’s state of “a weak man.”
    • “The rhythm of the clicking of the fan matched every beat of Vani's heart, every beat that told him again and again: it should've been him.”
      • The beginning of this sentence seems forced but toward the end the author writes in a way that makes the sentence flow better and become more interesting. There is also an element of mystery and intrigue that will hold the reader’s attention later in their story.

    4. Everything regarding his motivation and roots, how old he is, why he’s so specific with scientific knowledge, why is he obsessed with time, why does he want to save people?
    5. What does he mean by save, and by what? Is he mortal? How can he give people wishes?
